Stagecoach Theatre Arts is the world’s longest running and most successful part time performing arts program for children.
Nearly 28 years ago, the first Stagecoach Theatre Arts School opened in The United Kingdom with a goal of effectively teaching its young students how to dance, sing, and act. Because of dedication, passion, and a thoroughly developed curriculum, the school quickly became a success England and throughout the world. Today, there are over 70 Stagecoach Schools running internationally.
As Stagecoach’s world wide expansion continues, the company is now happy to announce that they will be opening this fall in Milton!
Stagecoach Milton welcomes budding artists as well as those children who simply want to have fun and explore the arts in a positive and supportive environment. Their program engages and empowers their students, while providing them with an opportunity to develop and nurture communication and leadership skills, also fostering a sense of confidence, an ability to express themselves, making friends, and working as a team to explore the magic of theatre.
The principal of Stagecoach Milton is Meredith McGeachie – a woman who has been dedicated to theatre throughout her entire life. She and all the teachers are highly experienced in the arts, work professionally and are dedicated to the education and well being of their students.
Meredith McGeachie has spent her life working in theatre. After graduating from George Brown Theatre School in Toronto, she worked at the highly esteemed Shaw Festival. Not long after, McGeachie began to get regular and leading roles In Television and Film. That work took her to Vancouver, and then to Los Angeles, where she lived and worked as an actor for many years.
With the birth of her daughter, Meredith felt the need to return home to Canada. While looking for an Arts program that would offer her daughter the life skills she had been given, Meredith discovered Stagecoach Theatre Arts School. She enrolled her daughter in an effort to build her communication skills and self-confidence. The program was a huge success, and Meredith’s next step was clear. She realized that Stagecoach would be the perfect way for her to share her wealth of experience with other aspiring artists. She is thrilled to be bringing this incredible program to Milton as the Principal and Owner of Stagecoach Theatre Arts Milton.
What makes this program so unique is that students receive three separate classes of specialized instruction in each of the three disciplines –– all under one Roof. They will have one hour of instruction in singing acting, and dancing each week. All of the classes at Stagecoach are taught by experienced industry professionals, Each term will end with a show to give the students have the ability to showcase their new theatre skills.
